Tighter English Requirements for Tier 1 and Tier 2 applicants in the UK: Tier

Tighter English Requirements for Tier 1 and Tier 2 applicants in the UK:

On 26th January 2012, the UKBA announced a tighter English language test requirement for applicants of Tier 1(General), Tier1 (Entrepreneur) and Tier2.

From 6th April 2012, applicants are required to take and pass their English language test as required by the UKBA before they submit their application. Visa applications made after 6th April 2012 must be accompanied by evidence that applicants have passed an approved English language test. The evidence is specified as a required document.

Please see the following link for details of approved English language test centres:

Please note if you have a degree taught in English or are a national of an English speaking country, you will be awarded 10 points for your English language automatically, therefore, a English language test is not required. However, you are required to submit the original certificate of award and/or your passport as evidence of English language.
